Scenic City Maze

(Exhibition Wall Text – Dramatic, Human-Centered Tone)

I created this piece after a late-evening walk, drifting through Chattanooga with a full stomach and an open mind. The word Chattanooga twists across the frame like a maze—intentionally tangled, intentionally imperfect. It mirrors the way life moves us: through sharp turns, dead ends, unexpected reroutes, and moments where our perspective gets completely flipped around.

In this work, I reflect on how often we misread the path ahead, only to discover that every wrong turn still teaches us something. Whether navigating disability, identity, or personal evolution, the journey is never linear. Yet somehow, we always find our way through—with patience, clarity, and a little grace.

Sometimes life spins you every which way but loose, and the only thing you can do is breathe, look around, and take in the view. Chattanooga—the Scenic City—reminds me to appreciate those views, even in the midst of the maze. Because each twist brings me closer to understanding myself, my work, and the light I’m chasing.
